Conversely, if optimism, joy, and prosperity occupy your focus and energy body, then those attributes will constantly be returned via your personal experience. This is a great book discussing the science behind how one's thoughts determine one's physical, spiritual, and emotional health. Lipton holds a PHD in biology an provides a stunning critique of how your thinking influences states of health in the human body.Timely book for anyone not currently stuck in left brain hegemony. If you ever read Rupert Sheldrake's books on morphic resonance/fields, this book will make a lot of sense. This book follows many 'new thought' paradigms that assert that how you think, manifests the circumstances that flow into your life. The underlying thesis of this paradigm tells us that the universe is vibrational in nature, and therefore mirrors back to us our own personal vibration: if one is cynical about life in general, then cynicism flows back into your experience; if existential angst and stress is the lens through which you see the world, the vibration of stress will be your constant companion.
It just might help you to create and accept your own ideas and beliefs.Just plain fascinating -- and enlightening. Read this. Stuck in morass beliefs that have been passed down from generation to grandma and grandpa and so on and now to you. Tired of muddling through other peoples "stuff" which make absolutely no sense and creates barriers that you continue to struggle through, hitting and missing dreams, opportunities, and peace.
However, some theories are entertaining at the least, and the whole book is not at a loss. Any true scientist has to question the validity of his experiments, and he did not in this case. I have no medical background so I skipped through much of the technical aspects, but I'll just add one more thing in case someone catches this: Lipton holds seminars which actively engage the audience in use of kinesthesiology to "speak to the subconscious," the methods used in this seminar are far from scientific, more like the regular pseudo-science bull crap. I believed his "scientific" background until I saw the video.
[How to Change Lifelong, Self-Defeating Thinking Habits] [UNABRIDGED] [AUDIOBOOK/AUDIO CD]to develop a deeper insight as to why we think in a negative and limiting way. lipton does a great job explaining the biology of our beliefs. Definitely read this book; Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook; and listen to some great CDs: Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Meditation to actually change the way you think and Excuses Begone. I really found this book to be enlightening, empowering and validating at the same time. They have had an incredibleimpact on my life. If you view beliefs as thoughts you keep thinking over and over again.negative, limting thoughts have an incredible impact on your life. I already believed in the Law of Attraction and the power of our thoughts on our lives. Dr.
Many chapters are dedicated to beliefs with real world examples, as well as how beliefs are formed through our experiences. Beliefs do change, and this is the way it happens. "The Biology of Belief" is a good start and can make for some interesting reading, but as so many people have stated, it really doesn't give you techniques for changing your beliefs. He then gives you a multiple-step process and methods for how to change your beliefs. Either we manage our beliefs, or they manage us. That's why I recommend "Anatomy of Success" by Ronald A. Kaufman.
